Line L7 of FGC launches the new trains of series 114 at Pl. Catalunya station
Santi Vila, Minister for Territory and Sustainability, and Enric Ticó, President of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGC), participated in December 2014 in the baptism of the first two trains of the series 114 in a ceremony held at Pl. Catalunya and Av. Tibidabo stations.
Line L7 was opened to the public on January 1, 1954. It is popularly known as the line of Tibidabo Avenue or the Balmes line. The electrical multiple units of series 600 have circulated along it, as well as the trains of series 111, which were put into service in 1983, and finally the new EMUs 114 are circulating.
During the ceremony, two train units were also christened with the names of the economist and politician expert in the public transport sector, Mercè Sala, and the one of the writer and chronicler of the Putxet, Elvira Farreras.
